Well Drilled in Ayaga Community
Beloved,
I bring you greetings in Jesus name. It is exciting to see what God is doing for His children.
The people of Ayaga Community of Katsina-ala area in Benue state of Nigeria now have access to a Well providing them with good clean water. We are so grateful to the dear brethren of Pound River Church for funding this project.
The people of Ayaga are like people who are dreaming as this is the first time they are having access to portable drinking water. So, everybody: children, men and women are full of thanks. It's been a while since they have been blessed this good.
Fourth Quarter 2017
REPORT OF THE FOURTH QUARTER DEWORMING EXERCISE, 2017 – KATSINA ALA MISSION FIELD
Dearly beloved in Christ and partners in the business of the Kingdom. It is with a great joy and gratitude to God that I present this report of the last quarter of the year 2017. The Lord has been faithful to us. By His grace, we covered many miles this year in the course of our mission trips and there was no evil report.Despite the biting financial difficulties we passed through this year, the Lord still met our needs. Indeed, He is Jehova Jireh. The 4th quarter deworming exercise which took place in the K/Ala mission field from 6th to 13th November 2017 was the most challenging though the most successful for the year. It was challenging in the sense that some of our team members took ill within this period and could not perform the way they usually do. Moreover, our vehicle broke down many times and this cost us a lot of money to repair. We got stuck up at the middle of a creek because there was no bridge to cross through, but God helped us to get across. It was also the most successful because we were able to cover more villages and schools than we would usually do.
As a result of new locations we visited we witnessed many people giving their lives to Christ. We also visited some communities and churches have not visited for the past 7 years or more. They were revived and many gave their lives to Christ.

Third Quarter 2017
2017 THIRD QUARTER DEWORMING EXERCISE JULY 17th-23th
Glory be to God who has given us victory in Christ Jesus in every aspect of our lives. The third quarter deworming exercise took place a week earlier than scheduled because of a little shift in the general school timetable for the long vacation. We had to go when we would be able to get hold of the kids. This was necessary because this is the peak of the rainy season in Nigeria and a time when worm infestation is at its peak. The journey as usual started from Abuja to Bauchi, to Yola, Gugura in the Vere hills and finally to Koma hills. This was the toughest journey so far. There were many challenges ranging from insufficient funds to inability of some of our team members to go with us as a result of their personal life challenges. Another big challenge was the bad road as many of the roads were impassable. The major bridge between Karulahi and Shigeri wasJU washed out making it impossible for any vehicle to pass. At this juncture, we had to employ the services of local bike riders and the remaining time we had to do with trekking. However, it was a successful journey.
We dewormed about 2500 children and adults. We treated about 20 people of malaria despite the fact that there were many people down with malaria parasites. We could not give out water filters because of insufficient funds. We visited 8 schools and 5 communities. We had a 2 day revival program with the Koma area mission churches and many people were blessed.
By the grace of God, Shalom Global missionary Outreach was able to pay the one month salary owed the teachers of Redeemed people’s Academy Gugura. We thank you for your every support. God bless you.
Second Quarter 2017
MAY 2017 SECOND QUARTER DEWORMING EXERCISE/MISSIONARY OUTREACH
It is indeed glorious, marvelous and wonderful what God can do. The second quarter deworming exercise and medical mission outreach was the first of its kind. The journey started on Monday the 22ndth of May 2017 and ended on Thursday the 26 of May 2017. This trip was unique in many ways:
- It was the first time we combined medical mission and school deworming.
- It was the first time we had white missionaries (Pastor Bill Rose and Brother John Blansett) going with us on the trip.
We were an 11 man team from Abuja, Jos and Gembu in Taraba State who joined up with 15 more members from Katsina-Ala mission zone. It was a wonderful outreach program. The medical outreach took place in Kumbur. We covered a total of 4 primary schools namely:
- Kpav Comprehensive Children’s Academy, Tor Donga
- Ake Nursery and Primary School, Anande
- NKST Pilot Science Primary School, Mbagena-Kpav
- Mimidoo Academy, Shikaan.
SUMMARY:
- We visited 4 primary schools.
- A total of 3500 people were dewormed.
- We treated about 500 patients with various ailments in Kumbur, Shikaan and Damsa.
- We gave out 50 water filters.
- About 250 people prayed to receive Christ in the course of this program.
- Only one soccer ball was given out to a school.
Thank you immensely for your prayers and contributions. God bless you richly.

Third Quarter 2016
REPORT OF THE THIRD QUARTER DEWORMING EXERCISE OF 7-13 NOV. 2016 IN KATSIN A-ALA MISSION FIELD
We must go with Jesus everywhere no matter the roughness of the road” is a slogan that emanated from our hearts with a deep sense of commitment and determination to preach the gospel, all odds not withstanding. In did, the roads were physically bad. This is the beginning of dry season in Nigeria after about six months of rainy season. The erosions and flood that hit these tracks called road made it almost impassable. The small car we had could not make it to all the places we wanted to reach. As a result of this we had to make it up with motor bike and some places with trekking. My joy is that our team members did this with joy and excitement.
The exercise which was scheduled to take place in October was shifted to early November due to logistic reasons. The journey started on 7th of Nov. 2016 and ended on 14 of same month. This time our team members were drawn from the following states: Enugu, Plateau, Adamawa, Nassarawa and Abuja. We all converged at Benue state where the mission field is located. It was a wonderful time of reunion as some of the team members had not gone with us for the past two years. The trip was unique in the sense that we had a 3-day convention with about 13 churches in the field in attendance. It was very powerful. Many people were saved, a lot were delivered, healed and they regained their freedom. 25 pieces of new wrappers were given out to poor rural women majority of who were widows. 20 families received water filters and they were excited. This was as much as our car could carry. We visited a total of 8 schools and 9 communities. The total number of people dewormed were 2361. 100 people were treated of malaria. 300 people prayed to receive Christ.
Schools visited are:
1. Mimido Academy
2. Ake Nursery & Primary School
3. Harga Nursery & Primary School
4. St Peter Divine Mercy Nur. & Pri. School
5. Mbucher Community Secondary School
6. Uduu Nursery Primary School
7. NKSTPilot School
8. Mbacher Community Nursery & Primary School
9. Convention deworming
We want to use this medium to thank all our friends for your prayers and support.
First Quarter 2017
Report of First Quarter Deworming Exercise, February 2017
To the glory of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, we use this medium to present the report of the first quarter deworming exercise of 2017 which took place in the Koma Hills Mission field from 12th to 20th February 2017. The programme was confronted with a lot of challenges ranging from insufficient funds to physical health. Because of inadequate funds, we could not buy some necessary materials such as buckets for water filters and could not go with all the volunteers as we were unable to sponsor them due to high transportation cost. However, we had some worm and malaria medicines for both school children and community members. We were five missionaries in all. Within the one week duration in the field, most of us had some health challenges as a result of the type of food and water we were not accustomed to coupled with the strenuous nature of the hills which took us over 8 hours to climb. Again, some of the team members were first timers and could not find it easy to climb. However, everyone is doing alright now. Our coming was a very great source of encouragement to the schools and communities which had been waiting eagerly for our visit.
Activities
1. We had gospel rallies in two different churches.
2. We had health talks, preaching and deworming exercises in some village squares and schools.
3. 111 people prayed to receive Jesus.
4. 210 people were treated of malaria parasite.
5. 2025 people were dewormed.
6. A total of 7 schools were reached.
7. Eight communities were visited
We thank God for the opportunity He gave us to help the people. However, the two prevailing challenges still remain: Lack of portable drinking water and lack of school for the teeming population of children in the fields.
Thanks, and God bless
Pastor Obi
