First Quarter 2017

Report of First Quarter Deworming Exercise, February 2017

To the glory of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, we use this medium to present the report of the first quarter deworming exercise of 2017 which took place in the Koma Hills Mission field from 12th to 20th  February 2017. The programme was confronted with a lot of challenges ranging from insufficient funds to physical health. Because of inadequate funds, we could not buy some necessary materials such as buckets for water filters and could not go with all the volunteers as we were unable to sponsor them due to high transportation cost. However, we had some worm and malaria medicines for both school children and community members. We were five missionaries in all. Within the one week duration in the field, most of us had some health challenges as a result of the type of food and water we were not accustomed to coupled with the strenuous nature of the hills which took us over 8 hours to climb. Again, some of the team members were first timers and could not find it easy to climb. However, everyone is doing alright now. Our coming was a very great source of encouragement to the schools and communities which had been waiting eagerly for our visit.

Activities

1.       We had gospel rallies in two different churches.

2.       We had health talks, preaching and deworming exercises in some village squares and schools.

3.       111 people prayed to receive Jesus.

4.       210 people were treated of malaria parasite.

5.       2025 people were dewormed.

6.       A total of 7 schools were reached.

7.       Eight communities were visited

We thank God for the opportunity He gave us to help the people. However, the two prevailing challenges still remain: Lack of portable drinking water and lack of school for the teeming population of children in the fields.

Thanks, and God bless
